But If I had my way
There would be no more wars to fight
There's a part of me that hopes someday this day will just be
To remember people who've lived to a ripe old age.
If wars there must be
Then I guess I'll just have to be content
With the knowledge that I'm related
To people who fought and came home again
And be glad I'm part of the new life they created
So I write this to honor the veterans
Like many I'm proud of the people that serve
And I'm grateful too
Because of the freedom they protected
I'm free to write this blog to say thank you!
