Memorial day

 As it's Memorial Day, I thought I'd write about my Grandfather who fought in World War II for the Canadian Royal Air Force. He was actually shot down twice over the Atlantic and survived both times. He went on to run a business and help raise 8 kids and died in his late 80's. I always thought of him as someone who was really brave and kind. In his memory I want to send everyone and especially members of the armed forces everywhere, best wishes and much love always.

I really believe that everyone has light inside of them in the form of talents to offer the world. Something that made me smile today

A lovely walk

 Today I went for a lovely walk with a very good friend. It was just so nice to talk with her and to be out in the sunshine and hear the birds singing and look at the flowers that were out. Three good things from today

1. I was able to take a walk and sit in the sunshine today which was lovely. 
2. I was able to meet with some good friends and talk for a bit which I very much enjoyed
3. I got dressed up for work which made me feel pretty.

Good things that happened today

 In keeping with my quest to find good things in each day, here are 3 good things that happened today.

 

1-The weather was nice so I was able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine today.

2-I met with some friends who are in a choir with me and we planned out what rehearsals and cocnerts would happen going forward once restrictions are lifted.

3-I made myself a lovely dinner

 It's the singer Enya's birthday today and in celebration I thought I'd share a song that she sang that I like very much. It's actually a hymn called "How Can I Keep From Singing". A completely sentimental song

 Today for whatever reason I got to thinking about the song "When You Wish Upon A Star" and although it's very sentimental, somehow it does make me feel better to hear it. I figure life gets complicated, sometimes it's nice to be able to listen to songs that are simple and can just be enjoyed because they sound nice and are comforting. A lovely lunch

 Today I had a lovely lunch with some very good friends that I hadn't seen in a long time because of the pandemic. It was so nice to see friends again in person as it's been a long time. It felt rather like coming home after a long journey. As much as the journey is interesting and can be fun, there's something nice about coming home and my friends and family are always my home. A dog’s dream comes true

 I saw this lovely video of a dog who was super happy about the fact that a local tennis team dropped off some tennis balls for the dog to play with. It’s just really nice seeing a dog so happy! To everyone and especially dogs, I send you best wishes and much love now and always.

 The composer and lyricist Irving Berlin was born today in 1888. This made me think of a lovely song he composed called “Always”. I really like this particular song because it’s about unconditional love and how people are always there for people they love.  I've always found I feel better when I'm helping someone. There's always more good things I can do and that shows me how goodness is always a bigger deal. My Mum

 As it's Mother's Day, I wanted to take this opportunity to share My Mum's favorite song as listening to it helps me feel closer to her. The song is called "Someone to Watch Over Me" It's really nice because it reminds me of how my Mum is looking out for me, whether it's through phone calls, emails or texts. It's always lovely to hear from her. So I share this song with everyone to wish all mothers and especially my Mum, a very happy Mother's Day!

 It's the naturalist Sir David Attenborough's birthday and I'm celebrating it because my Mum and I very much enjoy watching his documentaries. A lovely day out to Horn Pond

 Today I had a lovely time walking around Horn Pond in Woburn with one of my good friends.
