Friendship is worth it!

Outside of family, friends are the best because I feel that genuine friends are always there in times of need and it's lovely to have fun with them and I like doing nice things for them and making them laugh. Doing those things gives me a lot of happiness.  Anyway, this quote makes me thing of a song I really like called "Everybody Needs A Best Friend" because like my friends do, this song always makes me feel happy.

Difficulties and miracles

Since I’ve found that happier things come after difficulties, it makes me value the difficulties for encouraging growth and look for miracles in random places because going through difficulties makes finding the miracles (or simply happy things.) feel that much better. A sign of success

Even if it's not always easy, there is something nice about being at peace even in times of difficulty. That's something I'm working on. It's nice to know that truth and love survive everything. It really does give me a lot of hope to keep that in mind when I get frustrated with the state of things. Perfectly marvelous

I heard this song today called "Perfectly Marvelous" from the play "Cabaret" I like it because it's cheerful and makes me think of things that are perfectly marvelous like love, laughter, pretty dresses, and of course trail mix!

A lovely dinner

Today I was really happy because I was able to have dinner with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. There's something nice about sharing pizza with a friend. Resistance failure

I identified with this quote today as I too couldn't resist the temptation of the trail mix at Target. Seriously, not to sound too much like  commercial for Target stores but they do have excellent trail mix. I suppose trail mix not such a harmful temptation if eaten in small increments. Anyway, if there's something nice that you wish to indulge in that isn't significantly harmful to oneself or others, I say go for it!

A fun day out to Peggy’s Cove

Today I went with my cousin and her family to visit Peggy’s Cove which has beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and a very old and appropriately picturesque lighthouse. There’s something nice about watching water especially oceans because it’s very soothing to me. Today was also nice because my cousin and her family decided to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving Day 1 day early as I’m leaving to go back to Boston tomorrow. To me, regardless of what meal it is, it’s always lovely to share a meal with people one loves. To everyone in Canada I wish you the happiest of Thanksgivings and if you’re reading this, I hope that on a regular basis, you have the opportunity to share a meal with people you love.

Greetings from Halifax!

I’m currently visiting my cousin and her family in Halifax, Nova Scotia for Canada’s Thanksgiving weekend. Today was really fun as I went with my cousin and her soon to see the Citadel which is a large fort/military museum in Halifax. It was really interesting to learn about the fort and what soldiers’ lives were like there and also about Canadian military history in general. After seeing the Citadel my cousin and I went to see the Downton Abbey movie which, if you’re into British history or the TV show Downton Abbey, I highly recommend seeing the movie! To round out a really nice day, my cousin, her husband and 2 sons and I went out for a lovely dinner at a nice French bistro in downtown Halifax. All in all it was a very nice day and I’m happy I was able to share it with members of my family. To all who read this, I send you best wishes and much love always.

Penguins love bubbles!

I saw this clip of some penguins waddling around in bubbles and it seemed like they were having fun. In any case it made me happy to watch them so I post the clip here in the hope it brings happiness to others! Happy Friday everyone!

I like doing little good things for people like holding doors or smiling or giving hugs or giving money to people in need. It just feels so nice to do those things and although I may never know the true effect the actions I take have on other people, I feel that my life is made better by doing those things. I'm all about finding paths even if it means I get lost, I've found I'm better for the getting lost. If you're reading this, wherever it is you're trying to go and whatever it is you're trying to do in life, I hope you always find a path and pursue it!

The best thing in the world

Love really is the greatest of things. It makes me feel so happy that I'm able to love and be loved.  For me love is worth any effort because the rewards of loving people are truly great. The nicest thing about love is that it's something that everyone can do. In that spirit, I send much love to everyone.

Whales make rainbows

In continuation of the theme of finding rainbows in random places, I saw this clip of people watching a whale in the ocean and every ime the whale spouted water it looked like a rainbow was being created. I just like seeing beauty in nature like that. Plus, there's something nice about watching blue water. Even from a distance, it makes me feel peaceful

A white rainbow

I just read a story about a white rainbow that suddenly appeared in Scotland. It's funny because there are times when I didn't think I could do something but because I had to do it, it got done. I think if people want to do something enough then they make it happen. That's the thing I like most about people, we all have the ability to do so much, especially when the things we do are things we feel we have to do. People always find a way. If there's something good that you want to do, I hope that you think of it as something you have to do. In thinking about it that way, I feel like you'll find a way to make good things happen.
