Faith is love

I was looking up the word "aspiration" in the dictionary  and I found that aspiration means to hope for something and in terms of medicine it means the act of breathing. I like to think that love needs hope to live on in people and that without hope there is no love. I find I have a lot of hope in people and that motivates me to love them more. So, because I have faith in the goodness of everyone, I send everyone best wishes and much love now and always.

Anything you can do

 It's the singer Barbara Streisand's birthday and this got me thinking about  a song she recently recorded with the comedian Melissa McCarthy called "Anything You Can Do". I liked it because the song is funny and also very warm. It makes me think that there's so much people can do and making people laugh is one of the best things to do. Favorite line in Shakespeare

 Today is supposedly the day that  William Shakespeare was born and this got me thinking of my favorite line in Shakespeare's plays. The line is from the play "Much Ado About Nothing and goes like this "I love you with so much of my heart that nothing is left to protest."  I've always thought that line was so nice because I like the idea of having so much love inside a person there isn't room for anything bad. Since I also feel love is best when it's shared, I send everyone best wishes and much love now and always.

This quote made me think about how I find I feel best when I'm happy. That's really why I try to spread the happiness because it's a feeling that's best shared and so in that spirit. A fun Easter dinner

 I just came back from having a lovely Easter dinner with a friend and her family. Usually I don't have Easter dinner with people, I'm used to just having a quiet dinner and just relaxing but it was so nice to be with my friend and her family. We laughed and talked and ate really good food and it was just a lot of fun. It made me feel very grateful to have such lovely friends and to be able to enjoy time with them. Favorite thing about my Mum

 It's my Mum's birthday today and this got me thinking about things I like best about my Mum. One of the things I like most about my Mum is her sense of humor so I thought I'd share her favorite joke just for the heck of it. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson decide to go on a camping trip. After dinner and a bottle of wine, they lay down for the night, and go to sleep.

Imagine

 It's the musician Herbie Hancock's birthday today and this got me thinking about how he recorded a version of The Beatles song "Imagine" with a group of different singers. The elements

It's  the musician/singer/songwriter and satirist Tom Lehrer birthday today and this got my thinking of a song that he sang where he basically recites all the elements from the Periodic Table of Elements to the tune of "I am the Very Model of  A Modern Major-General" from the Pirates of Penzance.   I always felt that it was a bit odd that people equate having a lot of money as an indicator of success. Thoughts on strong winds

 The other day it was really windy out and it made my windows rattle and that all reminded me of when I was really little and the wind would rattle my windows in my family's house. I used to pull my bed clothes over my head because I reasoned that if the wind were ever to carry me away with it, at least I'd still have my blankets and thus, still be warm and safe. Although I've managed to get past the fear of being blown away by wind, I still hope that wherever you're reading this I hope you always have a warm place to feel safe in. i send everyone best wishes and much love always.

To me, it's always felt better to be kind. It's just really nice to see people being happy and to know that something I did helped them feel that way is a nice bonus. All I need to get by

 The singer Marvin Gaye was born today in 1939 and one of the songs he's famous for singing is a duet called "You're All I Need To Get By" that he sang with Tammi Terrell. I like the song because it's all about always being there for someone and helping them through whatever situations life presents them with. All I know is that my friends and family have helped me get through so many things and I think of that when I hear that particular song. A favorite joke

 In honor of April 1st, here's my favorite joke, just for the heck of it: 

2 people were sitting in a wooden kayak in the middle of a lake and they start to feel cold so they suddenly decide it would be a brilliant idea to light a fire in the middle of the kayak, they act upon this impulse and the kayak promptly sinks, thus demonstrating how you cannot have your kayak and heat it too!
