A nice hug

I saw this really sweet video of a monkey hugging  a little girl and I felt the need to share it here because it made me smile. I send everyone best wishes, much love and many virtual hugs.

 This quote made me think about how things in my life that have been difficult have helped me get where I am today. For example, if I hadn't been born with a disability I might not have the job I have now and I might not have been able to meet so many of the people who are now my friends. It's true that being ill isn't easy and can be a bit painful at times  but I feel it's also true that my life is better now because of the experiences I've had. Wherever you're reading this, if you feel like you're struggling, I hope you are able to see the good things that come from that struggle and that eventually you'll be able to look back and see how you are stronger because of the things you learned from your past experiences. Thiings I learned today

I was reminded today that some mistakes I make that seem so big and cause me feel so worried and down can actually come out rather well in the end. I'm very glad mistakes are allowed in life, that I can learn from them and that some mistakes are redeemable. In celebration of my Dad's birthday

 It's my Dad's birthday and this got me thinking about one of my happiest memories with my Dad is when he'd take me out in his old MG car and we'd go get doughnuts, I liked riding with him with the top down so that the wind made my hair go all over the place which made me laugh. It was just nice to be with him and get the doughnuts and laugh with him on the way home. It's a simple memory but it stays with me because it was always a fun thing to do with my Dad. To all who read this, if it's your birthday, I hope it's a very happy day for you and I send you and everyone (especially my Dad) best wishes and much love now and always.

A song for (almost) Valentine's Day

Sweet ad

 As the Superbowl football game is being played today and because the Superbowl is famous for its TV ads I thought I'd share a TV commercial that I actually like. Usually I really don't like commercials but this one was the exception because it's sweet, it made me smile and I like the song that's used in it.  If you plan to watch the Superbowl today I hope your team wins and that you laugh at the commercials. I like knowing that everything has a use and a meaning. An example for me is the Minions. When I first saw a Minion cartoon I thought it would be a bit ridiculous to watch but when I watched more of the Minions the made me laugh so hard and brought a lot of joy to my life. I realize this is a very small example but it taught me how much things that seem little can have a big impact. Wherever you are reading this, I hope that you can know that the things you do can have a really good impact on other people and things and that you can enjoy all the good things in your life. Even birds dance

 I saw this video of some birds dancing and it really made me laugh so I thought I'd share it here.  I saw this lovely video of a chimpanzee hugging Jane Goodall, a primatologist who had been taking care of the chimpanzee and then released him into the wild. A song to help chase worries away

 I found out that the singer Bob Marley was born today in 1945 and in thinking about that, I thought about a song he sang called Three Little Birds. The nicest things to say

 I was just thinking today about how it makes me feel glad when people say nice things to each other. I think the nicest things people have said to me are I love you and I'm proud of you. It just feels really good to hear those things because hearing those things motivate me to be my best self. Why I like kites

I always liked kites because no matter how hard the wind blows, they always seem to fly higher.  Plus they're fun to run with. When I was little and I'd fly a kite, sometimes I'd think I was up there with the kite flying all around and having a grand time. Things are not always as difficult as they seem

 I was thinking today of how things or situations that would frighten or intimidate me sometimes can seem insurmountable and then when it comes down to it, I find that the things or situations I was afraid of aren't so big after all. It's comforting to know that things aren't always so difficult. As long as I can think of things in that way, it makes  doing hard things much easier.
