I always knew that hugs were therapeutic and now there's a group that exists to show how healing hugs can be. The group is appropriately named "Hug Therapy" and exists to use hugs to help people become healthier. Apparently hugging someone for 20 seconds helps them develop a hormone called oxytocin which can decrease anxiety and increases empathy. Hug Therapy is holding an event in Cambridge, MA where people will give/receive hugs. All I can say is there's nothing like a good hug!
