I find this quote to be really comforting and it does make me think about all the things love can do.  I really believe that as long as there is love there is hope. As long as people care enough for each other and are willing to help each other, there is hope that will eventually be better than before. are the things I always work to keep in mind and it makes me feel happier. The loco-motion

It's the singer Little Eva's birthday today. She's famous for singing the song "Loco-motion" which is a song that cheers me up because it's fun to dance to and I think anything that brings more cheer to life is worth celebrating! Don't worry about tomorrow

I rather like this Bible verse and it seems especially applicable now.  Worrying is something I struggle with but I'm working towards focusing on the here and now. It's not always easy but when I can do that I do feel more positive. It's a nice thought that tomorrow doesn't have to have the same worries as today. The overcoming of it

I liked this quote even thought it might seem a bit sad. It's very comforting to know that things get better even in hard times like these. Something to never forget

This quote made me think of a guided meditation I did today that encouraged people to do nice things for themselves. I figure as long as I can show love to myself it means I have more love to give to others. A cuddle curtain

I saw this lovely video about a man who created a "cuddle curtain" a plastic curtain he could use to hug his elderly grandmother. The value of a library

Libraries have always been places where I felt happy. There's just something nice about escaping into a story for a while. I rather like this quote and it makes me think how funny it is that people say "enough is enough" when they're frustrated about something. We'll meet again

I saw this lovely video online today of all these essential workers and servicemen and women singing "We'll Meet Again" which is a song that was made famous by the British singer Dame Vera Lynn Watching the video was bittersweet today because she died today at 103 years old.

I know she was really old and everyone has their time but I'm sad she's gone. She made so many people in the UK and especially in the armed forces in World War II feel better and more hopeful. They started playing this song again more recently because of COVID 19 and just like back in the war it seems to really boost morale. Seeing this video made me feel better somehow because it reminds me that no matter what people still unite even in distance and there is always hope.

Another addition to the funny animals series

Somehow I've always felt panda bears are quite funny animals and I saw this video which made me laugh. I hope it has the same effect on others. I send everyone best wishes now and always.

Baby elephants like to cuddle

I saw this really sweet clip of a baby elephant that likes to cuddle. Even though cuddling isn’t safe for people right now, I’m glad it’s something animals can do. Anyway, I send much love and best wishes to everyone now and always. 

Otters!!

Llamas for social justice

I saw this news article and although it's from earlier this month I still thought it was worth sharing now.  Apparently there is a llama in Portland Oregon who attended a protest (with his owners in tow of course) to show his support for people protesting the death of George Floyd. They call it the No Drama llama It's nice because it's still safe to hug llamas and if anyone needs support and hugs right now it's protesters! Photo from home

My Mum recently sent me some photos from my childhood home in Michigan. I grew up on a farm and my parents and siblings still live there. Even though I can't be with them physically can't  be with them right now it's lovely seeing pictures as they make me feel like I'm home with them. We shall overcome

I saw this beautiful rendition of "We Shall Overcome" today that was sung by The Aeolians Oakwood University Alumni that was truly beautiful and it was dedicated to people fighting and dealing with the effects of the coronavirus. It really warmed my heart so  I send it out to everyone.

Llamas on the run

When you're smiling

The singer Dean Martin was born today in 1917 and I recently saw a recording of him singing the song "When You're Smiling" to one of his daughters. Somehow it reminded me very much of my Dad. Although he has never sung to me, he's always encouraged me to smile and be optimistic no matter what circumstances I might experience. Late one night a burglar broke into a house and while he was sneaking around he heard a voice say, "Jesús is watching you." He looked around and saw nothing. It's the actor and comedian Russell Brand's birthday and I really like this quote by him. It reminds me that there's a lot of good things in everyone. I like finding the good things in people and helping people find good things in themselves and what makes them feel happiest. There's something truly beautiful about seeing people happy.
