I saw this lovely video of a girl playing a piano. I liked it not just because of the music she was playing but also because she seemed to come alive while she was playing. A resolution

 I've resolved to start the day thinking that each day can be my lucky day and at the end of each day, even I feel like the day was rather less than lucky, I'll take comfort in the fact that it was most likely a lucky/happy day for someone else, so they are happy and I like seeing and/or thinking of people being happy. Plus, I can still look forward to the better things that can come with each day and know deep down that each day I am actually very lucky because I am loved and can love in return.  It's the singer Queen Latifah's birthday today and this got me thinking about a performance she and Catherine Zeta Jones gave a long time ago at the Oscars where she sang "I Just Move On" . I like the song because to me, it's all about keeping on going even when things are hard. Plus, Queen Latifah and Catherine Zeta Jones sound great singing the song. I've always really liked giving and receiving hugs, just because I feel safe and as though nothing bad can happen when I'm hugging someone. Happy International Women's Day

On writing

I've found that writing has always helped me find my way through thinking things out. Writing is something that came fairly easily to me and it's something I can do well and it's helped me to express the good things I see and the love I have for people. A great concert

 Yesterday I had the privilege of performing with Polymnia Choral Society in a concert called "Considering Mattew Shepard" which is about the life murder, and legacy of Matthew Shepard, a young man who was killed for being gay. In the concert we sang songs from various musical styles to tell Matthew's story. The concert's music and theme stays with me even now that I've finished the concert because it is so moving and its message of love, hope and urging people to be more loving to each other, is very profound to me. Although a recording of this concert isn't available, I encourage people to watch videos of different groups performing this oratorio because it is really powerful. What I like best about it is that it shows how music can tell stories, spread meaningful messages and help people heal. I have posted a recording of a past performance of this work below and I'd encourage everyone to watch. I send everyone best wishes and much love now and always.

 The composer Frederick Chopin was born today in 1810 and he's famous for composing musical pieces played by pianos. One piece of music that her composed that helps me feel relaxed when I listen to it, is called "Nocturne opus 9 Number 2.
