I'm reading a lovely book called The Book of Delights by Ross Gay which is a series of essays about small things that bring delight to people's lives like seeing a flower in a sidewalk's curb or hearing your favorite song on the radio. It made me think of how I also find delight in small things, like how, when I do the dishes by hand and little bubbles pop out of the dish soap bottle, it always makes me smile. Today I got all worried and worked up about something that frightened me as I was afraid something bad was going to happen because of a mistake I made. It turned out that things worked out fine in the end and I needn't have worried. What I learned from this is that, while feels really good when things work out, it never pays to get all worked up and worried.
