I saw this news story about two men who invited an elderly lady who they saw eating alone to join them at their table instead. The woman had gone out to dinner to celebrate what would have been her 60th wedding anniversary had her husband still been alive. I liked the story because in the simple act of inviting her to eat with them, these men were able to help the woman know she wasn’t alone and that people cared.
